The point I'm trying to  make here is that the Irish News seems to go for off the wall choices as their Man of the Match, particularly since this prediction comp started. What other credible source, media or otherwise, cgose Kernan and Mc Elro in threse two matches (which is not to say that they didn't perform very well)?

As regards my GAA Credentials, I think a timely reminder is necessary

1.Sunday World National Finalist - Brains of the GAA in 2003

2. Part of the team that finished runners up in the Irish News GAA Quiz in 2005

3. Winner of Irish News All Stars Selection in 1998 and 1999

4. Winner of the GAA Croke Park Museum Essay Competition (and trip to LA) in 2001.

5. Irish News gaa Fantasy Comp (Armagh section) winner in 2000

6. Currently second in the Belfast Telegraph's Pick The Score Comp and very much in contention for the £3000 first prize

Jez i was expecting played for my club for x amount of years...a championship medal at u14 level...somthing that involves participation experience and involving the legs as compared to the pen...i know you could be a ref

Why is Shane McCabe absent from the list of contenders?

What even did you pick Tone?

T Fearon

Oh right, so you have to have played the game to know something about it then? ::)

T Fearon

I predicted Clarke for the semi and Brian Mallon for the final and I'm not syaing that either two should have been man of the match for the respective performances on those occasions, but neither should Kernan nor Mc Elroy

What use would £50 vouchers be to you anyway?

No choice Corn. You had to write 100 word essay on the subject of the 1888 GAA invasion Tour to the US and put yourself in the shoes of one of the participants on the eve of his departure from Ireland.

My winning essay was of course printed in the match programme for the 2001 All Ireland Final Hurling programme, Galway V Tipp

Why did they not print it in the All Ireland Football final programme as well Tony?

Also you didn't answer my question from before regarding Stephen Kernan's excellent performance in the Ulster Semi final deservably gaining him the MOTM award?

By the way who have you picked for Starman for the replay?

haranguerer

I had Ciaran McElroy as fermanaghs best player. When I watched it back on the telly, he was less prominent, I attribute this to the fact that his tireless work off the ball wasn't seen, and also that he wasn't dwelling on the ball. Both his scores were excellent, and at vital times. He was taken off because he'd ran himself into the ground.
Watching on telly can be deceiving sometimes - I thought that overall Marty McGrath had an average enough game - on the tv he was very prominent, and the two scores he got flattered to deceive on his overall game, I feel.

Jeez, Tony, is it possible to invade the US in 100 words?
