Bad because he is against the old ruling classes in Venezuela.  Giving out health care and suchlike.  Nationalising the oil wells for Venezuela rather than for the profits of the big oil companies.

Bad because he want to make himself president for life.  Up to that he was doing well.

thats the thing Denn. On one hand he seems to have done some great things for his country but then you hear he wants to make himself president for life or something else that makes you wonder.

Thats me thinking on it. You also wonder is there crimes he is covering up and as president he will not have to face charges.

Chavez started off really well and was doing plenty of good. At that point the US thought him a despot, threat to security and blah-de-blah. From what I hear he didn't know when to stop and has gone way over the top. The power has gone to his head and he is now doing things because he can, not for the greater good. He is living up (down) to the portrayal the US made of him. It's sad because its going to end very badly whether now or in the future.
