As for being pessimistic about our lads- I'm being realistic and from what I'm hearing on grapevines .....I have good reason to be.

No unfortunately. They listen to the sponsor who insisted on a big name. Three wasted years but lucrative ones for the tanned one I would think.

Is this Gridiron or an Irish sport?

Now ScottyD time you got educated!!!  This is a Gaelic Football forum and as there is more then one nation on earth there can be more then one NFL and as far as I know are NFL was started before the American one!!!!

Seriously though the NFL or National Football League is the GAAs secondary inter county competition divided into 4 divisions with promotion and relegation.  It is played early in the season and used to prepare teams for the much more important Provincial Championships and qualifiers that lead to the All Ireland series inAugust/September.  Here endeth the lesson.

BTW Foxtel in Oz now include the Irish Sports chanel SETANTA in their cable package which will give you and  other Aussies interested in GAA football and hurling a chance to see the real thing!

What do you all talk about at your club, if you do not know the answer to that one?  ;D

It is the sport that Marty Clarke played so brilliantly before moving to Melbourne to teach Aussies how to play football  ;)

Tell Marty that Gaelic Football misses him  8)
