I was never a major fan of the Saw Doctors, but they are mellowing in their old age. Their acapella version of Red Cortina last Christmas was great, as is their latest effort. I hope that I look as well as Petula Clark when I am 79!

Is that video a piss take? It's a cross between a Peter Kay vid and something from Fr Ted.

Maguire, you'll have to lighten up.
Especially considering some of the musical output that has originated in Monaghan!

Lighten up? I had a great laugh at that video - I just wasn't sure whether or not it was supposed to be funny.

Although i'm not sure why my opinion on the Saw Doctors should be influenced by the fact that some people from Monaghan also made brutal music.

Looks like a recent video sure didn't Davy,Leo have long hair back then?

Sawdoctors are one of those bands you either love or hate! yes they have some cheesy over played songs but the live gigs brings great energy (as good as i've been too) they are known mainly for a good songwriting ability than cover songs but in fairness that's a decent cover.

The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Big fan, missus thought they were pure shite til I brought her to a gig in the Olympia last year, Peter Kay comes on stage singing I used to love her, class.
Excellent live
Excuse me for talking while you're trying to interrupt me

Shamrock Shore

Each to their own.

Never been to a Sawdoctors gig - but I was at a Big Tom one in, oh, late 80s.
