Barney

Donovan and Freeman added. I don't believe either should be there but vote whatever way you like. Just quit the whingeing. Team will be revealed on Monday.

sligeach

Barney how could you include McNamara but leave out Donovan ?

I just mean, why do you think McNamara deserves to be there but not Ross ?

Barney

Sligeach if I was honest I don't think any of the Sligo players deserve a nomination. They beat a poor Galway team, and caught a poor Roscommon team before exiting feebly to an adequate Cork team. But they did win the Connacht Championship and on that day McNamara in my opinion was instrumental. One game should not get you an All Star, but I only put up nominations, you pick the team!

Of course you could go for both O'Donovan and McNamara on your team.

For everyone else Monday is d-day

Ross Donovan of Sligo definitely should be there.if he was a Dub we'd be sick listening about him

Now that you mention it Ross Donovan actually is a Dub...moved to Sligo when he was a young fella...

Wee Roddy

Uladh, are you serious when you ask how Conor Gormley can possibly win an All Star?

If you are then the answer is, he will win an All Star because of his performances in this years championship!
He was Man of the match against Fermanagh and Monaghan in the Ulster Final and only for a freakish display by Brain Dooher he would have got man of the match against Donegal as well. Against Meath Stephen Bray completly tormented the Tyrone defence until Gormley went in and stiffled him completly. There are those that say Tommy Freeman got 1-2 against him in the Ulster Final. The goal he got was because of that Gourley eegit  playing full back. Tommy Freeman touched the ball 8 times in the whole game and two of these he was dispossed by Gormley.
Is there anyone else who thinks he will not get one?

Uladh is right imho, the standard in Ulster was not representative of the top quality football in the AI series this year - it will be a travesty if any all star is awarded to an Ulster or Connacht player.

Maybe if we publicise this it might help his chances at getting his deserved Allstar! I'm simply amazed by what Barney (usually a pretty decent judge) says on the matter. Donovan was every bit as good if not better than any corner back this year. I suppose its easy for me to say that as I saw every minute of him playing though.

Thank God for that - I had thought for a while you were mellowing in your old age, and had put it down to illness!

Personally I think Gormley should get one. But do you honestly think Thomas Freeman doesn't deserve one?
