Resounding No, you had to admire them yesterday. It is that ruthless streak that the likes of them and Kilkenny have that sets them apart ie. we don't care that we have a good lead we are not going to show you an sympathy until that final whistle goes.

As a couple of lads pointed out in another thread, the solution to the final problem is a seeding system from the Qtr finals on and scrap your open draw!

This is ridiculous thread, u can blame Kerry for Cork being crap, we all knew that the real all ireland final was Dublin v Kerry which was a great game. Can't blame Kerry for the poor final, anyone time it is put upto kerry the games are good, even the Monaghan game was a good game.

Kerry are the standard bearers for our game and mighty fine ones they are as well.

One thing that puzzles me is, when Ulster started to compete and win All-Irelands, all the talk was "What they doing right up there....new approach..is it the youth structures etc etc". The Ulster counties copied each other, other counties followed and perhaps a more professional approach was adopted.

But has anyone ever looked at how they do things in the Kingdom? Does the history of the jersey and numerous all Ireland wins really contribute so much to winning? Is it just large numbers that play the game down there and a really good structure for club football with the divisional leagues and amalgamated championship teams?

They never appear to have shit hot minor teams, yet they always bring through 2/3 players every year. And they all appear to be natural footballers be it backs or forwards.

Whatever they do, they do it very well.

How can Kerry be bad for Gaelic Football? They set the bench mark for others to aspire to.

True, yesterday's game was very negative, but Kerry are good for Football.

They are the standard to which every county must aspire.

But after two drab All-Ireland finals in a row, it's a worthwhile question.

An All-Ireland win by Dublin, or any Munster, Connacht or Ulster county with a decent support base would surely be better for the game?

Galway's last two All-Ireland wins, along with Ulster's emergence, were much happier times for those of us not from the kingdom.

Indeed, Kerry's period in the doldurms coincided with the an upsurge of interest in gaelic football.

In the 70s and 80s, when Kerry pretty much dominated, crowds of less than 10,000 attended AI semi-finals.

That said, the game wasn't irrevocably damaged.

what year was that? as for your thread i see the point of it but dont agree. how can raising the standard be bad for a game..
