Has to be Oasis. Absoluate gobshites, especially Liam, but their music was the voice of that moment in time.

Blur like brown bread - better for you but

Oasis - white bread - not that good for ya but tasted a lot better ???

Puckoon

That just made me cast my vote!

Gnevin

Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.

I have to agree with you there. Other musical gobshites over the years have included John Lennon and John Lydon so they aren't in bad company.

Westlife are also gobshites, but I wouldn't prefix that with musical. ;D

Blur have done some great stuff but have been poor for the last one or two albums.

The Gs Man

Oasis without a doubt.  Seen them 8 times live and they were class every time.

Their B-sides would pish all over Blurs greatest hits, and thats before I mention Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory.

New songs a bit too much like Lyla though.  Still a good tune.

Used to be "mad for it" back in the student myself, still enjoy the occasional Oasis listen, but with the passing of the years comes a certain refinement in tastes. Gnevin hit the nail on the head when comparing them to Aslan.

Listened to Parklife again over the weekend for the first time in aaaages and couldn't believe how well it has aged with me, when I listen to Defo Maybe I get nostalgic and am probably shit faced.

Billys Boots

Blur had a bit of invention about them.  Oasis were a poor pub band.
My hands are stained with thistle milk ...

Puckoon

Jeez theres some harsh opinions around here.

Im edging on the Blur side myself (for invention mostly) but to call Oasis

Strong comment also, and one that isnt neccessarily close to being accurate.

There appears to be little between them (except 10 votes so far ;)) - maybe its a matter of taste.

How about a new poll - Daddy or Chips?

magpie seanie

Blur for me. Oasis too one dimensional for me. And knobs.
