ya someone told me he was giving up his football career. that must be what they meant.
Statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital.

I can happen either way where a transferee is approached by a club in whose area they have moved in to or the player themselves contacts the club and tells them that he wished to transfer to them. If it is intercounty it is very unlikely that there will be an objection from 'home' club as the player more than likely is living away from home. Yes, I know there are cases where clubs cross local county boundaries but that is not all that common. I believe (open to correction) that it takes about 6 weeks for a transfer to clear. I am not sure in the case of intercounty transfers if the transfer comes into play until the player lines out in an official competition. I know that is the case in local transfers. I think this is the run of it

It would regularly take that long (getting signatures and the like) but it shouldn't. Once the forms are completed and signed it takes very little time to get cleared.

Duration and length of inter-county transfers can vary. In Britain, normally what happens is the club approaches the player, the player signs the I/C transfer form, the club secretary also signs before it is signed by the county secretary. It is then sent by the county secretary to the transfer department at Croke Park, from where it is sent to the player's original county secretary who signs it and then sends to the original club. The original club then has 10 days to respond (by signing the objection section of the transfer form assuming they won't let the player go). If no signature or response the transfer goes through without discussion. the whole process should take around 3/4 weeks in total. If the new registartion system was up and running correctly, it wouldn't take half as long - the sonner it is the better. What happened to this new registartion scheme?
Anyone travelling to Leeds to work/study are welcome to join St. Benedicts Harps GAA in Leeds.
