Canice got a belt to the head in a Junior C match in Ballyragget a month ago. His wife Jocelyn says he hasn't really been the same since .

Things came to a head when he launched into a foul mouthed tirade against Gaelic football on FACEBOOK last night following a visit to Dublin

Jocelyn said it started off innocently enough when Canice returned home from a session with the all Blacks .

He watched the rugby match and the news before heading to bed.
But at 12 midnight he was up again and typing madly.
He drank 2 bottles of Amaretto by 1 am and in foul mouthed tirade which was completely out of character ATTACKED

- The black card rule
- the gracelessness of the scoring process
- the fact the rules are all over the place
- the definition of the tackle
- Why did AIG not show Steve Hansen how to defend in packs against a non scoring forward with a big ball. Picklington insists it is because the concept of the non scoring forward is too shameful to explain to foreigners
- The defensive mentality which inhibits the freedom of expression given free reign in hurling under Brian Cody who was influenced by Johan Cruyff after a chance meeting in Langtons in 1994
-the general absence of manliness

Canice Picklington is still in a daze. He can't remember what he used to do in summers BC, before Cody. And Waterford !

Even his mother who wouldn't be that much into the hurling was infected
She  had been coming in and out of the kitchen and she happened to be  sitting down when the 4th goal was leaked Now, she is not a woman that uses strong language at all. But when she saw this, she stood up and she said: 'Well f**k you anyway, Cody.  Where is the full back, for f**k's sake".

Canice was stunned. But through the haze and the pain of losing he saw the outline of a plan developing. A travel agency specialising in activities for Kilkenny people in July , August and September. Shefflin would sort out the loan.

After Waterford's victory over Kilkenny tonight, ten times All-Ireland medallist Canice Picklington has voiced his concerns that Waterford will now be emboldened to once again try to annex part of South Kilkenny.

With senior inter-county hurling at an end for the Cats this summer, the club and "the resistance" will now occupy Canice's mind.

"The territorial integrity of Kilkenny must always be preserved", said the legendary stickman, as he gave his thoughts to KCLR radio following tonight's defeat.

Protest marches are planned for all future Waterford championship matches, beginning with the All-Ireland quarter-finals on July 23rd.

Cermonial blaa burnings will also take place at as yet unspecified locations.

It could be a long, hot summer.

Does Canice believe KK's demise is directly related to the high number of team warmdowns missed by high profile players to take selfies with fans and sign hurleys?

Absolutely not.

Signing a hurl, especially while leaning over an advertising hoarding, can be tricky and improves hand-eye co-ordination.

To reach over an advertising hoarding requires stretching the hamstring. As regards selfies- Canice likes to oblige the youngster who wants their photo taken with him by taking the photo himself. This requires arm stretching.

So, while it's nice to oblige the youngsters, there's also a selfish element to it as all that signing autographs and selfie-taking can actually double as a warm down!

Just don't tell anyone!

Genius!
