Is this mine producing much gold up by Omagh?

Do you know anyone working there?

Also has there been any local outcry to the devastation of the landscape that this mine will cause?

With gold at over 1000 US an ounce is this mine still active?

Seems like they would add extra workers to extract as much gold as possible.

I haven't heard much about this mine on the news or from talk by politicians, but was told by a friend who was at it over the weekend that it was the biggest gold mine in Western Europe, and had 30% to 40% more gold than originally predicted.  The crown owns the land that the mine is on.  Will the north receive the monetary benefit from this mine?

Short answer - pittance.

Dalradian did exploring minework in Rouskey, Co. Tyrone. They now want to build a second mine in Greencastle, as well as a Cyanide Processing Plant next to the football club.

The PSNI are providing round the clock security, because of the explosive material. However there is a legal dispute, because to date the PSNI haven't been paid and the Canadian mining company have no intention of paying them.
