Learning Irish - any advice?

Listen to songs.  Most of the lyrics are online with translations.
Same with poetry. I downloaded a CD of Mairtin Ó Direain poems and they are lovely to listen to to get a feel for the words
Buy an Ó Dónaill dictionary and dip into it.
