They should stop guaranteeing tickets to the AI finals for every unit of the GAA - give them tickets to the semi finals instead
Give more real fans a chance to go

Steady on!
Our association has introduced several initiatives and rule changes in recent years , none of which appear to have been designed to help clubs  and many have actually harmed them. If the GAA even hinted at taking clubs'  allocation of All-Ireland tickets away from them , there would be anarchy . Volunteers are the lifeblood of our association , and many of them don't get to matches , because they're too busy cutting the grass or managing the u12 team. Come the big day , they should be looked after.
"Real fans" always get tickets if they really want them, in my experience. The fact that clubs get an allocation encourages fans to join their local club, which can only be a good thing, not least because of the revenue it brings to clubs.

Regarding "fans" of all sports , I don't really get this " we owe so much to our fans" . I have supported my club and county for over 40years and the craic was great ( even the dejected journeys home after defeats , were part of that ) . While volunteers (including players) made sacrifices for club and county, supporters could enjoy the event with family , friends. These great supporters who can negotiate the tricky journey to Jones' rd with ease, never seem to be able to manage to find Páirc Esler on a wet Mckenna cup , or to their local ground for a club game. Fair play to them, and they contribute to a great atmosphere on the big days, but they don't deserve to be congratulated for having a great day's craic among their mates!!!
IMHO , The GAA needs to work on getting more fans , to more games , by reducing prices (especially concession) and re structuring our county and club fixture programme, As opposed to taking away one of the few perks that clubs and other units of the association get!
I've no problem giving each club the option to buy two tickets.

See how many tickets each county board, camogie, ladies football, each county schools committee, foreign country boards, scor etc get

every club does receive 2 tickets and as far as im aware thats every club from every county both hurling and football, as in evey kilkenny club gets 2 football tickets .
any way i dont think allIreland final day is really the issue here  . Of all the consideration given to wheter or not to good to a 1st round provincial game or Qualifier the possibilty of getting an All ireland final ticket would be well down the list unless your from Kilkenny

That's true, got 2 tickets for the hurling final one year through a club that played football only.

The GAA may have to look at championship structures if attendances are to rise in the future. Feargal McGill, the GAA's head of games administration and player welfare, also said that the association is "concerned" about declining crowds in Leinster.

"Realistically in terms of attracting higher attendances you're at the mercy of two things – competitiveness and who's going well – because the more teams that are competitive the better and you need diversity, a new county coming through," he said.

"The second thing is that you're probably at the mercy of the championship structures.

Clubs have option to buy tickets

Most clubs raffle them off as a fundraiser

without wishing to hijack the thread by a 'new way to run the championship tangent' wouldn't it be hreat now to have a champions league completion in 2 groups among the last 8 to get the semifinalist or even the finalist? all the top teams playing 3 serious games at the business end of the year  the rest could play for the tommy murphy cup having had their chance at the Sam macguire .
could also be done with last 16 but could include some dead weight
