Well done Clare.

Had Clare narrowly winning with Tubridy and Podge starting but they should have won by more what with all the missed goal chances in the first half. They can play better than that as well but what worked really well for them was Brennan drifting in to full forward and some excellent direct deliveries into him. Delighted to see them snatching the victory in the end, pity they aren't on the other side of the draw in Munster.

How come there was 8 minutes of injury time.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

8 minutes of injuries was about right. Probably one of the only thing the ref did well was keeping time, he was atrocious for both teams and has been any time I have seen him. He seemed on friendly terms with Aogán so we will probably see him in charge of plenty of championship games unfortunately.

Kinsella yesterdays for all his faults at least allows football to be a contact sport.

Well done Clare, by far the better team and should have won by more.
Kildare will ship some hammering again if they manage to reach a game against Dublin in the Championship, absolutely baffling how Cian O'Neill has continued to use the same defenders who can't tackle, stop a runner or mark a decent forward. Andrew McLoughlin would still be a better option if he was recalled.

Good to see what Neil Flynn can do and it would have been nice to see someone like Ben McCormack get a chance off the bench instead off the tried and failed.

Still very worried about division 4 Wexford but hopefully Peter Kelly, Niall Kelly and possibly Daniel Flynn will be back for it.

Yeah I thought that Kildare looked very suspect defensively, seemed way too easy for players to get time and space close to the goals - was actually thinking at one stage watching it that if they meet a Dublin or a Kerry who were in the mood they could easily ship 5+ goals again.

Clare heading into the Munster championship off the back of this to play a Limerick side relegated to Division 4 and assuming they win that a Munster semi-final against Kerry awaits. Can't see them upsetting the apple-cart against Kerry but they will probably go out and have a cut at them anyway. After that I'd say they be hoping for a relatively decent qualifier draw.

Great graphic that shows the missed goal chances and that Clare shouldn't have needed a late goal to snatch victory.
