As far as I'm concerned there is no a la carte approach. This is extreme hypocrisy. You are either Catholic or not.I have more respect for those who are not.

Catholic Church teaching is not plucked from the air.It is rooted in scripture, the word of God.Picking out the so called bits you like is therefore worthless and will not yield salvation.

It's a lot less hypocritical, than the promoters of truth and justice and brotherly love, raping five year old boys, stealing the newborn babies of unwed mothers & then trying to cover it all up.

What nonsense!! Things change and the Catholic Church have changed plenty over the years. Sure the Borgia Pope had plenty of kids out of wedlock.

Open your eyes and your mind Tony people are too smart now to live their lives according to a fictional book written 2000 odd years ago!

People think for themselves now and aren't blindly following what Preists and the Church are telling them anymore. . .

The people still think what they are told to think, only now they are so blind they can't even tell who or what they are following.

Tony, if you ignore the dietary rules outlined in Deuteronomy and Leviticus, then that would make you an a la carts Catholic, wouldn't it?

Really? What about Purgatory, does it exist or not?  What about anyone who ate meat on a Friday before they changed it, sinners or not? What about fasting from midnight until you receive communion, you look like a man never misses his fry up, sinner or not? What about masturbation, you look like a w**ker, sinner or not?  What about sex before marriage, OK that probably doesn't apply to you as you only partook in the masturbation, but lustful thoughts, sinner or not?

Why do people continue to indulge this man in thread after thread about the Catholic Church. I don't know any other poster who has posted so many messages about the same subject in so many threads. Everyone is entitled to their view as much as the next person but this is long past tiring at this stage.

Can we please stop feeding the troll? Or at the very least keep all discussion in one single thread so the rest of us can avoid it rather than open thread after thread.

Serious question: Why would you open a new thread by Tony Fearon if you don't want to read it?

Serious Answer: On the off chance it might actually be something sensible and not the same topic rehashed 100 times over. Lesson learned.
