That minor squad is the best that Mayo have ever had in terms of producing players for the senior team which is really what minor teams are all about.Caff,Barret,Oshea,Parsons ,Sweeney and Cunniffe have featured this year while Kilcullen and Cambell featured a few years ago and of course Hanly is the one that got away

Actually seen Henley (Hanley) play one time for Mayo cant remember when, he play a few games for the Mayo seniors before going to Australia?

Played 2 championship games back in 2007 against Cavan and Derry and then left for Australia.Going by his performance in the comp. rules  last year i am not sure he would make a big difference anymore.

Are you talking about Hanley? Because his surname has been totally mangled here a few times now. Hanley is a fantastic footballer, just like his little brother. Thankful both are safely off in Aussie land because they'd be doing a lot of damage if they were still at home, and sadly not for their native county.

Syferus would you ever go for a 20 mile walk and leave us alone.I knew when I mentioned Hanleys name you would be sticking your beak in with your Rossie BS.

You didn't mention Hanley's name until now.. but a nice, reasonable response from you all the same.

Did you start that walk yet? I mentioned Hanleys name in my first post and was asked a question about him by WW.Read it again

Gutted. Never turned up really, and you just can't beat Kerry if you get blown away in the middle third. They are too good going forward to let yourself be continually pushed back. It fell apart badly today all over the field. Well done to Kerry.

It's going to be hard now for these lads for a few days/weeks, but Tipp will regroup again. We are out with divisional u14 squads in a weeks time, and we will just keep on keeping on.

From a development point of view, not much really to learn from that, other than we have to be able to react when we are losing the middle third. It can't all be plan A. One for the management more than the players. A few things about decision making, tracking runners etc, but to be honest that was like trying to climb a greasy pole at times.

Sounds like you are involved in the management?

Hard luck, if so. Sometimes games just get away from you, especially underage.

No no not at all. I worked with a lot of them lads on development squads and I'm starting again next week but not involved with that particular squad at all.
