Can't believe it's 20 years.

Rock lore has it that Jimi Hendrix was once asked what it was like to  be the greatest guitarist in the world. His reply? 'I wouldn't know...ask Rory Gallagher'

Thanks Billy for the link.

The 'Irish Tour' footage is showing on Sky Arts fairly regularly at the moment.  Haven't had a chance to view yet, but I have a free house this weekend, so will see it then.

It's one of the most brilliantly crafted music documentaries, it just captures Rory perfectly.
No fluff in it at all, no people telling us how good he was  or how brilliant he was or how saintly.
Just a portrait of a man and his music.

As a spotty teenager i was in the Carlton, two of those nights,  front row of the balcony  perfect position.
The cringeworthy chant of  "nice one Rory, nice one son" happened at the Carlton, was probably down to the gig being infiltrated by a horde of those happy clappy horslip fans.

Jesus Christ - are you mixing up Horslips with Big Tom and the Mainliners or Gina, Dale Haze and the Champions.
