Shrewdness

Defence needs to tighten up with 4-29 conceded in last 2 games. However, a scoring return of 0-40 in two away games is not to be scoffed at.

I don't doubt that Roscommon are a team on the way up but wouldn't judge anything against a Kildare team now back to 1980s-levels of incompetence. Alarming how quickly our decent side of 2008-2011 completely fell apart. From division one semis to division three in two years.

A few of them are lunatics who think a big-name manager is the solution to everything.
They expect Kildare to be a top-eight side every year on the back of one provincial U21 title in six years. Doesn't register that the likes of yereselves have four of the things. Or that the 2013 Kildare U21 team they rate so highly was outclassed by Galway and two of the better players off it are in Australia. Or that Kildare have lost practically all of the side that was regularly making All-Ireland quarters.

Having said that, it doesn't mean the current situation is good enough. Personally I believe there is enough talent in Kildare at the moment to be mid-table Div 2 and make the last 12 of the championship with an outside chance of making the AIQF if the draw is kind. We're a fair way off achieving either of those modest standards.

I was in the Hyde in 2007 and the natives around me were fair disgusted by "Tanman" and yeah, it's a similar situation. I actually don't think Ryan can be that bad a manager - he's probably just all right - but in hindsight it was a dodgy job to take with the county broke, split by the McGeeney fallout, and about to lose a stack of players to retirement before the reinforcements adapt to i/c football. I don't envy him.

Two counties regretting dismissing K-Mac as an option for manager now.

Headin for newbridge shortly from west roscommon, wife giving out to me for leaving her on mothers day even though I delivered the card and the flowers, the things we do for Rossie football.

Did you marry your mother or what??!!  ;D

This would explain a lot!
