Did ye see Dunphy tonight?

Emotional but unstable.

It's something I'd never bother watching, but I stumbled on this and found it compelling viewing and I'm not sure why. Dunphy is just a very engaging character. I don't agree with any of his religious philosophy, his politics are fairly juvenile and most of the time he's a professional clown who'll say anything for a reaction. But he seems to be utterly humble as well as passionate and emotional and, most of all, great crack. He'd be on my list of famous people to join for a few pints.

- "I'll say, 'are you still serving?'"

I remember reading his articles in the Sunday Independent years ago. There was a period where he spoke a lot of truth to a lot of people but that moment passed unfortunately.
