yeah, the 5x5 program is generally a good base for strength.

However, most sports skills are done off one leg - running, jumping, landing, side steps, kicking.
So you need to introduce single leg dumbbell exercises as well

For Gym Monkeys its a good programme.

For Gaelic Footballers it's largely useless IMO
