McIlroys achievements this year are far greater than anything any other Irish sportsperson has achieved.

Really - I think you are talking complete bollocks there son.

Who has achieved more? Whatever about whether you like him or not, he's won 2 majors and a WGC event, and is ranked #1 in the world. I'm struggling to think of an Irish sports person with a better roll of honour than that in  2014.

Katie Taylor won the European Amateur title for the 6th time this year. If she retains her world title in November she would have achieved comparable results to Rory imho.

Does Rory have a personality? I thought that's what the award was about.

If badger baiting was a recognised sport I'd be in with a shout.

As pointless as the MTV awards

Some sort of awards on tv tonight when I came home from club, turned it over straight away, awards are dung. But the person wh wins is usually very deserving.

I'm assuming it was the US VMAs
Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, Arianne Grande, Beyonce, Drake, Common, Usher, katy perry, jay-z.

This is music? flippin eck....anything that has Kardashians in front centre row can't be taken seriously. Real music died a long time ago.

They even had a moments silence for that lad from Ferguson. wtf. Might as well had Al Sharpton handing out awards.

As British as Rory, qualifies to fight for them if she wants...
