Does anyone know if you need official permission from the GAA to film game highlights for a site like Youtube or Vimeo? I was thinking of recording county hurling games and u-21 games at the county ground e.g. games that wouldn't have official TV crews there. The semi-pro soccer clubs seem to be very strict with it even if it is unpaid.

Once your not hiding in a bush filming children it's OK. Didn't Eddie Maloney make a fortune selling DVD's of the football match in which he swore his wsy through the commentary.  Even called the ref a bollax and still has his house.

Bud, you'll need official permission from the relative competition committees before you can film anything inside any GAA ground.

He's gas man. I know his brother well, Pat. The Glen Boys.

But having said that Bud, that was a club U21 game, and I'm sure he was given permission for the video by the club. I'd say you'd need some sort of permission to do what you're asking. Any Craic would be the man to ask here I'd say.
