this years championship is certainly something else it brings me back to 2002 when rte and the print meejah decided that Armagh were a 'physical' team. no matter where Armagh togged out they were 'physical'..  tg4 the only word I could understand was 'physical' i'm wondering now if there are any other 'physical' teams. the frees count has went round the clock, referees have lost it.. we need hawkeye.. players are being carried off.. rugby tackles are ok ::) and yet I don't hear of any 'physical' teams. what made Armagh 'physical' more than mayo or Donegal or the huge cork team nearly all over 6"?

You're just not listening I'd say. As far as I can see analysts are constantly calling teams physical and how the game is more physical now than ever.

Would that Armagh team from 2002 still be the bench mark of the big physical team, or would any of the recent contenders take the title?

Illegible. Try again.
Why did you go to the police? Why didn't you come to me first?

Mc Geeney is the manager with the biggest muscles and his players aren't far behind him.

Dublin or Mayo would blow them away.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

You a teacher?

I cannot ever recall seeing a rugby tackle in gaelic. I know there will be loads of examples thrown up, but Colm Cavanagh rugby tackled on Sunday, and that was in midfield. Maybe it is just my tinted glasses.

The Meath team of the 80's were branded as "physical" too, as we're the Dublin team of the 70's. Armagh were no more physical than say Donegal are now, but the media like to label teams and run with those themes. Dublin have the best bench, Kerry are best footballers, Mayo best organised, Donegal are tired, Tyrone are cynical and They are ALL physical. Until the rules change, cynical physicality both inside and outside the rules will be adopted by all teams.

i think at the time 'physical team' was a compliment meaning at least your not a shower of sly Diving knee dropping Face holding whingers like St. Mickeys crowd

Still think the Meath team of the late 80`s were the bench mark for physicality and still would edge any team i seen in the past 25yrs in the physical stakes, even with the advantage of more training and gym work by current teams. Cant look by a team of hard bastards!
