Michael Jackson daughter Paris 'tries to kill herself

Paris Jackson, the daughter of late pop legend Michael Jackson, is in hospital after attempting to kill herself, a publicist has confirmed.

Further details were unavailable about the 15-year-old's condition.

Angel Howansky, long-time publicist for Joe Jackson - Michael Jackson's father and the girl's grandfather - confirmed Paris' suicide attempt to the BBC.

Entertainment media in Los Angeles say she was taken from the family home about 02:00 local time (09:00 GMT).

Authorities in the US said a four-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his father at a friend's home.

Prescott Valley police in northern Arizona said the shooting occurred just after noon on Friday.

The 35-year-old man and his young son were visiting from Phoenix and were at a friend's house.

Police said the boy somehow found a gun in the home's living room and accidentally fired it and a bullet hit his father, who was rushed to a hospital where he died. Police identified the man as Justin Stanfield Thomas.

Police said the boy is now with his mother.
