Ah ffs people have far too much time on their hands if they go getting upset by things like this. The hurling is virtually meaningless beyond the family and friends of those involved. The numbers at the game suggest even Donegal people don't really give a shite. And I'd hardly call Harrington (9 over par) and Phelan (16 over par) as being "heroic" and newsworthy! I'd be fairly confident that if either golfers were still competitive by Sunday morning they would be getting some coverage in the Irish News. To suggest that this displays a partitionist view by the newspaper........ Ah I give up!!!
Actually both we're better placed than gmac and McElroy at the time of reporting. I'm switching to the Irish times.

Today's Irish News ignores Phelan and Harrington as Nigel Ringland bemoans the lack of Northern Ireland challengers, McIlroy excepted. Followers of GAA and Golf for the most part like to look at their sport on an All Island, if not All Irish basis. In fact the IN has reports on Woosnam and Donald...not a mention of Phelan's heroics. Perhaps it's time to change the name to Northern Irish News?

Friday Tee Times (BST):
Donald - 15.22
Westwood* - 15.22
McIlroy - 15.44

Harrington - 21.14
Phelan - 22.31

P.S. Presumably the IN also ignored McDowell (15.33) and Clarke (15.00). Then again, they were playing crap...

* - I assume you meant Westwood (Woosnam wasn't playing - perhaps you should let a bit more of the steam out from your ears before posting?)
"If you come in here again, you'd better bring guns"
"We don't need guns"
"Yes you fuckin' do"

Whats the problem? The Irish News isn't a golf paper, it's mostly a GAA paper. I'd suggest buying some Dublin rag if you want golf.

Good choice - I'm sure the coverage of the Ulster GAA scene is superb in The Irish Times and if not then they are a shower of partitionist bastards!!
That was never a square ball!!

Whats the problem? The Irish News isn't a golf paper, it's mostly a GAA gaelic football paper. I'd suggest buying some Dublin rag if you want golf.

Fixed that for you.
