Decent win I suppose after a very sluggish start. Probably can't take too much from the game overall bar the fact that Damien Comer is a mighty bit of stuff. Wonder how many players were affected by the stomach bug? Probably wouldn't have mattered today anyway.

Aaron Boone

Impressive win for Galway and they look one to follow.

There is a good crowd of footballers there including the subs and they should get better over the next few years.

Watching highlights there, that game played on a 3G/astroturf? no grass pitches over there/

Should get it on the player I suppose. Is that the first competitive / championship game Galway have ever played on Astroturf?

Has the pitch changed in the last five years?

Galway and most counties will have trained on 3G pitches at some point during the winter.

Didn't see it this year but the Mayo game last year looked like it was on AstroTurf n all

Kevin

Can't tell you when it was installed, but I know Gaelic Park has had astroturf for quite a few years. My guess is at least 8 years.
