When Dromore won the Tyrone championship the parish priest told the captain to do the rounds with the cup then take it home and not allow any drink in it. The captain did just that and I don't think anyone noticed they never got a drink out of it.

They were probably scared the Priest would put another curse on them.

Sure doesn't the PP take a wee drink every morning himself usually before 9 o'clock ?  ;) :D ;D

Oh there was champagne in it alright - I got sprayed (mildly) with some of it when going around looking for post match interviews!!

I think that's great news. Some of the feckin poison I've drank out of cups in my time...

This measure will not stop binge drinking. Neither will a reduction in alcohol sponsorship. However, the cumulative effect of these things shows that the GAA's attitude to drink is attempting to change which is surely a good thing. As a nation our attitude to drink is disgraceful by and large. There's no harm in trying to send out a different message.
