I'm fluent in English, Irish, Cavan and also, a language I've never heard spoken but amazingly I can understand when its written down, ulster Scots.
I'd be happy to provide any useful phrases you require.

Olly

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried a few French phrases yesterday but it seems they don't understand French in an Irish accent in the Isle of Man.

The Isle of Man is an interesting country. Their motto 'Quocunque Jeceris Stabit' means 'whithersoever you throw it, it will stand.' Who says whithersoever? The Manx do.

moghrey mie    :   good morning
fastyr mie    :   good afternoon
traa dy liooar    :   time enough (there is time enough for everything)
lokkerup: good night
wayesai: pardon
daydon: ok

Manx is a dialect of Gaelic, but some plonker applied Welsh spelling to it so you can't recognise it.

moghrey mie = Maidin mhaith

There's a lot of crossover between them and the Scots Irish
