AC started hauling off his full forward line fairly quick but it was basic errors at the back which was causing the problems, poor keeping for the first goal and general poor play such as failing to lift the ball first time, getting it knocked away, by Collins in particular, was their main undoing.

Kilkenny looked very sharp again, but Galway were poor throughout.
