Without wanting to rub it in to Armagh I would suggest you get off the back of your team and manager. Some of the stuff posted here is bordering on delusional. God knows we've had our share of this over last number of years. Armagh had great team for 10 years. That team is gone. Now you start again and hope you have enough quality players coming through to build team around.

After a lot of pain thankfully we are now entering what should be decent 3/4 years. We had 4 of our AI winning team vs Laois and 7 yesterday. It was bad beating for Armagh but could have been much much worse. Dublin have for first time in many years a conveyor belt of underage talent coming through. This together with last years team with average age of 23 is best position we've been in since early 90s. No guarantee well win any more but it's great turnaround over last couple of years.

Don't mean to be overly arrogant but in same way we came up short vs Kerry and Tyrone previously Armagh now find themselves back in similar position. Patience badly needed to allow new players come through and develop. Success won't come any other way. Team of Bellew, McEntees, McGeaney etc comes along once in a lifetime.
none of the team you talk of had all ireland medals at county level before 02. the current team nearly all have minor and u21 medals. the team cairan mc keever was on was probably the best u21 team of the past 15 years apart from a replay with tyrone they stuffed every team they played. these are the same guys who now find it difficult to complete a 10 yard fist pass never mind give a kick pass. we have had two total gimps for managers since joe kernan, our average score is 13 points thats not enough to win anything. the clubs in armagh are being hammered for funding to keep this charade on the road imho its quite in order to expect your county manager to at least have a game plan and for him to adopt a positive attitude for himself and to instill a 'can do' mentality in the team. homer was talking up this dublin team all week in the media- their squad, their resourses in other words money he'd his team beaten before he put them on the bus. i sat behind the dugout at a couple of games in the athletic grounds i saw a dummy who hasnt a clue and doesnt give a shite its not good enough.

Dublin have a pick about that of the Province of Ulster and are AI champions. No shame on losing a game to them. But Armagh should still play with a bit of heart and keep the score respectable.

Very impressed with Dublin. Lots of great performances - nice to finally see Jonny Cooper get a late run and get two points from wing back and Connolly was top class again.

Connolly was class alright but he needs to square the ball when there's a man free inside with an open goal rather than risk the attempt himself, very selfish at times.

A chap is on a hat-trick, he's one-on-one with the keeper, the game is already well won - and you think he should square it???

I think he was involved in Mossy Quinn's goal. He certainly made the O'Gara goal last week. I don't think he's any more selfish that your average forward.

I agree hound, the game was won and he created the opportunity all by himself so he was well entitled to go for it. Besides if we can't encourage extremely talented players like Connolly to try these outrageous things we'd have a poorer game. I thought his last goal was stunning.

Croí na hÉireann

Don't agree boys, if he had squared it to Alan Brogan in the first half or Paul Flynn in the second it was a cast iron goal. He was coming from the side so the angle was tight, less room to aim for, therefore the percentages diminish. Superb finishes but remember Cullitons saves against him last year? The right thing to do is always the right thing to do.

2 points down with a minute left in the All Ireland final you'd be right Croi but with talent like that I don't think anything is not on. Stevie O'Neill has scored some amazing points from areas where you'd normally say a player shouldn't kick from but he is entitled to try even though he'll miss some. The rest off us would deserve to be subbed to even think about it. Genius works from a different rule book IMO.

Thing is I don't think he'd square it in an AI final either and I suppose that's what I'm getting at. If he's not doing the right things in a run of the mill league match then I don't see how he's gonna entertain the notion of squaring it when it really matters.

Genius does indeed work from a different rule book but to take your example, if Stevie O'Neill had a man free inside in the penalty area I think his efforts would be to pass the ball to him rather than attempt one of his outrageous points.
