Folks

I am after buying a new Alba 19 inch tv with freeview built in for my bedroom. I also bought an aerial to plug into the tv.

The problem is I can't seem to find the digital channels at all when I do any automatic tuning search. Not one of the digital channels have appeared after numerous automatic searches. I have tried moving the tv etc to different areas of house but to no avail.

Do any of youse have an idea what might be wrong?

ONeill

Have any neighbours had the same problem?
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Getting freeview can sometimes depend on where you are in the country.  Might be worth while investing in a good quality aerial.

My freeview is horrendous unless I've the wife hanging out the window.

Its actually London I'm situated in. In the city itself. I thought it of all places would be fine for reception. Perhaps the buildings/houses around are blocking it?? The tv and aerial are both brand new.

Possibly a dodgy freeview receiver built in.

I had a set top ariel with a booster and couldnt get a signal at all in the downstairs kitchen.

Only after I bought a roof ariel and put it up in the roof space (with no booster) did it work.

I bought another aerial there tonight, a much stronger one 46DB, and still no luck..

Do you think their could be a problem with the TV ONeill? It's an ALBA.

If you have a friend with a signal, lug the TV over there, it being smallish, and see if it works.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B
