Read somewhere years ago that he found what i think was a 7 iron and learned to use it for all shots. Was great to see his enthusiam especially in the Ryder Cup. RIP

Was the clubhead of a three iron with a stick shoved into it to act as a shaft !

Read some story the other day that he was practicing tough bunker shots from a greenside bunker at a tournament and he was putting them within a few inches of the hole and holed a few and a bit of a crowd of fellow pros gathered to marvel at him and couldn't believe it when he got out of the bunker to see he played them all with a 3 iron !

RIP Seve. Truly a legend of golf, he transcended the game to a great extent also. His talent and charisma made him the people's favourite. He was a wonderful shotmaker as described in some of the posts above.
I was listening to some comments on Rado 5 on Saturday about him, and they spoke about he had that flawed genius that attracts the spectator to certain sports stars. The fact he could play bunker shots with 3 irons and play shots from car parks made him exciting to watch.
Heard a good story tonight about when he came to open Moyola Park G.C (Co.Derry) back in the early eighties. One of the members was playing with him and after the member three putted the first he said to Seve "the greens are very fast". Seve replied "no senor, you just hit the ball too hard"

Just got around to watching the BBC documentary... Seve: The Legend. Fabulous programme about a guy who seemed to be a genuinely decent and likeable bloke. Apart from that he was a good lookin hoor and was at one stage the best golfer in the world. Hadnt much goin for him really.. :-\ ;)

Was an excellent show, was heartbreaking watching some of the clips where Seve was talking about his illness and he was breaking down at times, very sad.
