You'd need a county where a Meath man would fit in but I just don't think there are sufficient big thick inbreds up in any county in the north. I think you should get the wife to quit and move to Kells.

Big thick inbreds?  You gotta check out Slaughtneil, tis just outside Maghera

From what you appear to be looking for, Juice, I'd say you couldn't get better than this place:
http://www.cushendunweb.co.uk/index.html

Though there might not be much (any?) property to buy in the immediate area.

Cushendun is indeed a lovely part of the country, however you will need to take lessons in Ulster-Scots (or bollocks as some term it) as boys o' dear, the fowk arun thair spake a wee bit fanny.  Also to fit in it would help if your surname was McAllister.

There are some nice cushioned seats in Aldergrove, and a Burger King which servers breakfast, dinner and tea.

What does a Burger King 'tea' look like? Buttered soda bread and a pot of loose leaf tay doesn't fit in with my image of BK

Lurgan (outskirts) is the best option for you and here's why.

1) Both Airports within 25 min
2) Several GAA clubs in area
3) You would only be 45 mins from border (nip home and see the family)
4) Second largest park in Ireland
5) Lough Neagh on you're door step
6) Three public leasure centres (including swimming pools) within a 5 mile radius)
7) Motorway close by
8) Train station close by
9) Get a house and land for a reasonable price (cheaper that most parts of NI)
10) Ohh and you get to sample the local brew)

Waringstown is a nice village with a good GAA club (Waringstown Wolfe Tones) and it is just outside Lurgan and you get to sample the delights of Lough Neagh and Lurgan Park without having to live in Lurgan.

I could be wrong but I thought the GAA club in Waringstown was called the Waringstown Carsons?

i was once very surprised by a lad who told me how handy benburb or caledon were he went on to explain- only 10mins from the motorway (m1 at dungannon) only 15-20 mins from monaghan and onto the n2 to dublin houses at the time were very expensive and he was able to by reasonably cheap. the more i thought about it he was quite correct both are in tyrone but only just and the queens cousin owns caledon.. ::)

If you want to pm I will be happy to regale you with the many joys to be had living in Ballinderry.
Idyllic setting on the shores of Lough Neagh,  falling well within your commute times,  and central to the whole of Ulster.

And the home of the mighty Shamrocks.

What.? ;)

3 reasons not to live in Lurgan

1. Its beside Craigavon.
2. Its beside Portadown.
3. It is Lurgan!

:D :D :D Says the man who was put out of Crossmaglen and Cork...it'll not be long before those Down Gypsies catch onto you too ;)

Loughbrickland is about half an hours drive from the airport, it is a black hole however.

According to Wikipedia, from the 2001 census:
From a population of 681, 49.1% were from a Catholic background and 49.6% were from a Protestant background

Lived in loughbrickland and it is far from a black hole.  It is a lovely village and would 100% recommend it to anyone.  Central spot for commuting.

+1 Loughbrickland is at least 50/50 if not more so our side of the house
Ah well, I was just going by the flags I see flying around there every other day I'm in it. It does have an integrated high school I believe.
