Damaged tanker to get assistance in Belfast
Updated: 13:49, Friday, 16 December 2011

Coastguard said vessel developed cracks in its deck
An operation is under way off the northwest coast involving a large tanker, which the Coastguard says has developed cracks in its deck.
British marine authorities say they will accommodate a request for port assistance from a tanker that got into difficulty off the Donegal coast this morning.
The 42,000 tonne Genmar Companion was en route from Rotterdam to New York when the captain requested assistance, seeking a port in which to carry out repairs.
The tanker, which is carrying 54,000 tonnes of gas oil, is 25 miles from Tory Island.
It will now make its way to Belfast for repair works.

Apparently Jim McGuinness has dropped the ship from the Donegal squad indefinitely. A source said: "The already strained relationship reached the point of no return when McGuinness heard about the craic on the deck."

Red diesel is commonly known as marked gas oil.
Gas oil refers to the process of distillation. Crude oil is heated, becomes a gas and then condenses.
