got hd installed yesterday. with the sky atlantic channel in mind, i rang up sky last week to tell them i was going to cancel (to see what they would offer) and they offered me a free hd box and 6 months free hd subscription which i gladly accepted.

watched Boardwalk Empire last night and it has the makings of a great show.

the newer programmes look great in hd (as they are obviously shot in hd) but some of the older programmes such as the simpsons actually look worse - they are displayed in 4:3 with black bars down the side and look grainy. does anyone else get this too?

If you go into the settings menu, you can highlight the HD programmes in orange so you know which programmes are filmed in full HD and not just normal programmes on the HD channel.

Entourage has got a bit boring, watched Season 7 wasn't up to much at all.

yip, 8 is the last and it'll be a short one, I won't be watchin.  The show started going downhill around series 4 imo and the last one was terrible, truly awful.  Comedy?  Oh no, let's go all preachy about the dangers of drugs and let's Vince become addicted to coke in about 2.5 episodes.

I suppose I should say spolier alert, but really, I 'd be doing whoever read it a favour.

He's not exaggerating though, it is rubbish. You do get to see Sasha Gray naked a fair bit, but there are other places you can do that.

Have to say I thought Blue Blood was better than Boardwalk Empire! Gonna tune into the one with Al Pacino on Sunday, it's hard keeping track of what all to watch, Sopranos starting next Wednesday and the one with John Goodman looked good as well. I have too much time on my hands.

Jaysus this channel could be the end of me going out during the daytime (catching up on the Sky Plus)!!!

Can't wait to see Boardwalk Empire and Blue Bloods - great to see ER on from the very first episode, it's already on Series Record..

Looking forward to a heap of other shows, Battlestar Galactica Season 1 will be getting my attention on Tuesdays
