Worrying development with my bank here in the north. Went in this morning to withdraw some money from my ISA the girl told me i would have to order the money in as its over 2k. What is going on in these places surely they have the money in the place. I started to get cross with her but she kept telling me its the banks policy. I am seriously thinking bout movin money out till under the matress at this stage.

all first trust account holders in the north have received letters over the new year assuring them that their money is guaranteed by UK government up to a certain amount (£50,000??) in the event of 'credit issues' or something to that effect.

I wonder have AIB account holders in the south received an official precautionary notification?

Not a good sign.
Somewhere, somehow, someone's going to pay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPhISgw3I2w

in my bank the max without notice is £1200 you have to give notice day in advance!
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

I'd agree with Milltown. Anything over £1200 you have to give notice to them. Always been the way with them so I wouldn't have any major worries about it. (Ulster bank)

That's quite common for years! Their safes will be on time delay locks and may only be opened a couple of times a day anyway.
What are you getting cross with the girl for, it's hardly her fault!
Which one of you bitches wants to dance?

Used to work in the Bank and that is common enough. Shame on you for getting cross with the wee girl. I'm sure she has enough crap to listen to without you making it worse!

Any (First Trust) customers had fraudulent activity on their account over the past couple of weeks?

Both my sister and I (different branches) have had strange transactions that the bank picked up on - wondering if it's just random that both of us were affected or is it a breach of First Trust systems?

Apparently I made a payment to a company in Canada that does male breast reductions (result of google search)...hmmm...
