Go to www.boards.ie where there was a full thread on all the 'Other Channels' and how to set them up like CeeBeebies, BBC3 and BBC4 and (bless you digital tv) BBC1 that is not Norn Iron so Children in Need becomes watchable again.

If you cannot find it drop me a pm and I'll scan the document I printed off and keep under the telly for reference.
Cheers Shamrock. I googled it after I posted here earlier and the
boards.ie post was near the top and the most useful!

Good to hear that you are making efforts to be considerate to your mother.

You can record from from the SKY+ HD to an attached DVD recorder (with a dvd disc inserted) no problem.  In the SKY+ planner you press the red copy button and the signal will be sent to your DVD recorder.
Other option is direct stream from sky box to computer.
Connect Sky+ directly to computer's  tv card or the usb port via an adapter.

Cheers.

Is it possible to set up a wireless connection between the Sky+HD box and my iMac, via my BT Wireless Hub?

It's called freesat and while it has nothing to do with sky, it will give you some of the same channels. Google freesat and see how you get on.
