Anyone here have any experience here of this place in Co.Down?

Got a flyer for this place a few days ago and our club is considering taking a team to it for a session.

Also is there anywhere near for a social session? Kilkeel looks close enough but is Newcastle too far to get to?

Its in a place called Atticall - a few mile outside Kilkeel.  It is used mainly for walking groups or people spending time in the Mournes.  Its is clean and well run but check out the cooking arrangements as I thiught it was sel catering.  As for going out - Kilkeel would not be the most welcoming of places for a group of Gaelic footballers on the lash.  Newcastle would be fine and Rostrevor/Warrenpoint would be much the same distance the other direction.  There are quite a few clubs who might play you in this area if you were looking for a game as well.

It's a grand spot in a lovely setting. The Attical Social club would be your only man for a few pints. Stayed there last year during a cycling holiday. Attical have just been promoted to Down Div 1. If they can't play you there are loads of other clubs nearby such as Clonduff, An Riocht, Longstone, Ballymartin, Rostrevor - all within 4 miles.

Thanks, the team are really after more of a "bonding weekend" and are not really thinking about any games.

Dont drink in Kilkeel then.  Any of the other suggestions would do.
