xenophobic or not its a bit of a lark that you can walk in and be given housing etc on the back of irish taxpayers. Move to poland or these places and see what you get for free and then defraud the system and get caught and see what you get. Ireland is a nation of patsies. The biggest patsies being the taxpayer. I know fellas over there getting full dole and medical cards and working 6 days a week for cash and the kids attend national school paid for by taxpayers. Where would you get it?
By the way the 6 day a week thing is unreal, a fella can put a roof on a house for cash for a lot less than a registered contractor.
We cannot blame the Polish or others to take full advantage, can we?

so could I , but once the money I get clears - and I then leg it and in a month or so the roof crashes down ....will you be looking for a refund...
you get what you pay for and too many people are choosing to pay smaller amounts for building/plumbing/electrical/gardening/roofing etc work done by 'handymen' who are not skilled, qualified or good enough to perform a decent job- and these chancers are not all foreigners either - plenty of Irish cowboys about too.
no wonder the building trade gets such a bad name!

While I insist on calling Connacht, Connacht. The Connaught Telegraph is the name of the paper.
Time to take a more chill-pill approach to life.

Another reason to dislike it  ;)
Seriously though, I only ever read the sports section, and that's if it's lying around at home.
The amount of spelling and grammar errors is atrocious, and then there are the factual errors - wrong names for players, wrong years they won titles etc
The worst of the local papers in Mayo.

There's a few great lines in that piece. The editor says 'one of the lads' does it. Great Mayo line that. And then 'I'll be having a word in someone's ear about this'! Oooohh, wouldn't like to cross him  :D

I'd agree with Tubberman too. Poor paper.
Mayo for Sam! Just don't ask me for a year
