News says 5km south of Tuam - that would be a relatively decent road with hard shoulders. Weather may have been a big factor. Seems the bus driver died and the driver of the other vehicle. No one else seriously injured. N17 is now closed until tomorrow. Another dark day on our roads

Two men have been killed in a collision involving a bus and a van on the outskirts of Tuam, Co Galway.

Both drivers of the vehicles, one in his early 60s and the other aged in his 30s, died at the scene.

There were 27 people on the bus at the time of the crash and ten passengers were take to Galway University Hospital.

Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The crash occurred on N17 Tuam to Galway at around 7.45pm. The road will remain closed until tomorrow.
