Hi lads,

I have brought a couple of tvs down from home to Dublin and tried to get them working off the cable but I am unable to find any stations. I have tried a tv purchased down here and it works fine. I was wondering do tvs in the north work off a different frequency or what? Anyone have any ideas on this?

Cheers,

Mickey

I presume the cable signal is 'live' to your TV point (that the southern TV you tried worked off the same point)
if so
then did you try tuning in all three (still only three isnt it) frequencies on your TV - UHF, V1 & V2 ?

cheekily bring it over to DID , power city or some other large electrical store where they sell TV's and tell them you bought it there and ask them to see if they can see if it can be tuned in.

There is your problem so. The lack of electricity "down here" ;)

Lynchboy, for some reason there seems to be only one frequency on my tv. It picks up the channels up north but not down here. It is a jvc portable tv. Would there be any way to change the frequency on it?

Cheers for your help!

I know very little about tv's but the contrast ratio looks shit, my Samsung 40" has a contrast of 12000:1 and I looked at another one which was more expensive and was 15000:1

I have a 22" LG Tv at home and today I was watching tv and the sound just packed in but the picture was still perfect.

Any ideas on what could resolve it, or is it fecked?
