QuoteFFS O Neill, you cant compare what happened yous in 95 to last sunday. Tyrone were a point down to a 14 man Dublin team and Russel made an innocuous decision similar to 20 that are made in error in every game you watch.

I'm sure he was referring to the Charlie Redmond incident and not the disputed point at the end of the game.

Redmond was sent off and refused to go.    By the rules of the game the match should have been awarded to Tyrone as that is the penalty for a player refusing to leave the field of play.  Tyrone would have had a strong case for insisting that the Sam Maguire shuld be awarded to them without the need for a replay.

To add insult to injury when Redmond played on for 7 odd minutes he even contributed to a score.    Russell at the very least having realised his mistake and not followed the rules should have played an additional few minutes to allow for this.

There were several reasons fpor Tyrone to have the right to demand a replay but when the dust settled did not wish to win a Sam in that manner at took theright decision to leave it.   Headquarters breathed a sigh of relief that day.

Not true. There were no scores in the time that redmond stayed on
