The good great man? three treasures, LOVE, and LIGHT,
And CALM THOUGHTS, regular as infant's breath:
And three firm friends, more sure than day and night,
HIMSELF, his MAKER, and the ANGEL DEATH!

-- The Good, Great Man (Samuel Taylor Coleridge)

So will Micko finally hang up the mangerial boots or is there one last swan song in him?

Completely apropos of nothing, a lot of construction companies have gone bust recently or are struggling for cash flow.

Donegal need someone. He has all the qualifications and sure he loves driving. They could have their training sessions in Buncrana to maximise expenses. Mayo are another possibility but a bit too near to make it worthwhile.

:D

Perhaps Brian Kerr could start up a Gaelic Football team in the Faeroe Islands and this may tempt Micko!

The guy has done more for Gaelic football than anyone here so the snide comments are a sad indictment on people making them.

I'd say the Micko factor is finally coming to an end. I don't think anyone will be persuing him at this stage. Maybe Tohill will give him some sort of Token job, he'd love that ;)

put-it-up

The smart comments about Micko always piss me off. I am sure he does get a bit of cash for his troubles but at least he delivers something for the money. Look at the amount of bluffers in recent years that have been getting paid. Christ, even the tools that get paid to manage club teams that haven't a clue.

Micko's record speaks for itself. I would hate him to be my manager due to the trainin methods but he took Wicklow football from the dead. Wicklow are actually disappointed to have lost to Cavan. Before Micko came they were everyone's whipping boys.

Appreciate what he has done for the game and if Wicklow turns out to be his lost job then he can leave with his held high. Micko improved the fortune of every county he touched. That is a fact.

In fairness to Micko, Wicklow had Cavan bet in every area of the field. It was embarrassing being at that match early on as a Cavan fan. However, what happened was incredible. Carr basically asked Seanie Johnstone to go on and beat Wicklow on his own and against all the odds that is what he did. In scoring some incredible points he lifted the whole team and there was nothing Wicklow could do to stop him (they had 4 players marking him and the majority of the 2nd half he was the only Cavan player inside Wicklows 45). Don't think Micko is done yet but where he will go next who knows.

By the way in my eyes Micko was and is fantastic, Kildare football was rock bottom and he rose it from the dead, the players coming through now are young boys who were inspired by Micko's Kildare, we will always be grateful to the man. However he does divide opinion and the subject title recognises that and people are entiltled to their opinions.

He got more out of the GAA then anyone here!

Which one of you bitches wants to dance?

Fair play Micko, Wicklow had their best season for decades under your tenure.

I heard he was for Cavan next year. Heard it was a done deal. Anyone else hear that?

Well he must be if he stood on the line and watched that yesterday.  Haven't seen a collapse like that since well... never
