I was only a wee nip of lad back then, 5 years old. I've a vague memory of it being on TV and being a somehow important event. Didn't really care that much, wanted to go outside and play with the goats.

That sort of carry on is evidently habbit forming.

I was Inter-Railing at the time and I didn't know/forgot it was on and totally missed it  :-\

Neil Young upper lip has been digitally aletered in the official documentary to get rid of the, eh, talcum powder, that had, unfortunately lodged there, allegedly!

Unless he made a habit of it, pardon the pun, that was The Last Waltz.

Self Aid was better.

I have 3 tapes somewhere with the, eh, highlights.

Didn't go cos (i) had a driving lesson that Sat and (ii) no Horslips/Zen Alligators/Host and (iii) I thought it was a loada bollix

Apologies - I had it in my head it was Live Aid but I'l accept the greater wisdom of others.

The gold plated Rolls Royce drivers of Africa will be eternally grateful for that day.
