Obviously a man who doesn't know that Newry Town are now known as Newry City has no business commenting on soccer at all.
The same sentiment should apply to gaelic football  discussion for  a man who books a room for the wrong date of an all ireland final

Obviously  :D
Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something

I can understand the support of soccer, what I don't understand is grown men trawling through google images copying pictures to post them

To be fair 95% of the Non-GAA Discussion board is absolute shite anyway.

In relation to our (and I don't include myself in that) love of English soccer, Despite the irony of me living in England, Ireland and alot of Irish people are still culturally owned by England. We watch and imitate their TV shows, listen to and imitate their music, their style of clothes, our youngsters behave very much like theirs.

Now I don't have a grudge against England at all but if are going to imitate another country how about one that isn't f**king  full of slack-jawed mongos (again I dont include myself in that). Why not Germany, the Swedish or Norway, far better countries and people to be aspiring too. Lets make the most of our EU membership. England is backwards compared to those places, and we'll even further behind the way things are going.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Compare the beatles with A-ha - and there in lies your answer.

There is a slight irony in someone starting a soccer related thread to complain about the amount of soccer related threads?
That was never a square ball!!

You obviously haven't spent much time in these countries? They are massively influenced culturally by the UK and USA.

Well the less said about the German's the better, they worship the Hoff, debate on them over  ;)

I had a very hot debate with my cousin who lives in Dublin about the soccer/football naming thing. He says that soccer to him is football while football is Gaelic. I corrected him saying I'm also Gaelic, am I football, is the Irish language (Gaelic) football? He was kind of flummoxed but he stood to his guns.
