Message boards are cluttered with rumours :)

Judging by that, Vinny is not yet pronounced dead, so there is hope.

Vinny's out for tomorrow's game anyway, no word on Strimmer.

According to that most objective of sources, Northern Sound,  who covered the game, Derry were not up much today until knocking over 4 points in a row at the end, to put a flattering flavour to the final score.

Still an outside chance to stay up. It's not the be all and end all to stay up in Div 1 but at least there's more tv coverage. Next weeks game against Mayo  will be live on TG4

Aye good performance but sounds like Derry couldn't shoot to save their lives til the closing stages, scored as much in the last 5-10 minutes as they did in the whole first half. Having JP Mone back is a huge plus, it frees up Hughes to go out the field where he is best and adds alot of experience in what is a very young backline for the league. Will be hard to go to Mayo or Kerry and get a win, hopefully this win spurs us on more than the Tyrone one did! Div 2 is competitive too but it's good to be playing against the top teams in the country, so it'd be nice to stay up, a bit to do for that to happen though.

According to early reports, among our best performers were McManus, McAdam, Greenan, Malone and the Hughes brothers, all lads 22/23 or younger, great to see the young lads doing well again. McManus in particular impressed, hitting 10 pts, seems like he is starting to bring his club form to the county stage and hopefully it continues.

Glad to read that because Derry would even deprive you of a good gloat.
When you try to serve them a proper revenge dish in modest circumstances, they get a whiff of the starter, then run away.

Great result for Monaghan today. Good to get the scoring difference sorted as well as the 2 points, although it was disappointing that Derry got in for the 4 late points.

Wasn't the most exciting game - was over as a competition fairly early, although Derry did themselves no favours, kicking a ton of wides.

The young lads did a great job for Monaghan - McManus with 10 points was great. Another good game by Clerkin - he's continuing to improve and is one of our most consistent performers.

Roll on Castlebar!
