If you don't hold england and their past deeds in contempt then im quite happy to go back and edit the previous post.

I said -

I don't blame England for this but I would rather they regreted it than were proud of it

I don't hold anyone in contempt.

Don't worry about the edit.

I'll leave it as is then so the exchange is in context and makes sense. I will however apologise for misrepresenting your position, i should have read your reply properly before firing off a reply.

5) Japan (economy(!))

Not at present.  Great article in yesterday's Financial Review about how Japan is set to be overtaken by Korea and China in the manufacturing stakes as it places too much emphasis on high-tech wizardry as opposed to bog-standard make-it-work and keep-it-working.

you didnt get my (!) ? i was trying to be smart

MagicKingdom's media sources are the best in the world Aerlik, didn't you know?

Japan has had two decades of deflation and for most of that they had 0% interest rates. It was all caused by something called a property bubble, which of course could never happen here as we would of course have learned from their mistake. Right?

you didnt get it either, but then you dont get anything i say ;D

Nally Stand

Delboy, while I would agree with certain points I'd also point out that you are mistaken in saying that England's sins were in "a distant time". I raised the issue of collusion in potentially almost one thousand murders in my lifetime. This, unlike a lot of other things in Britain, is nothing to be admired. I also wouldn't agree with haranguerer's point that it's success in empire building was admirable. Small country or not, such domination came at a cost which makes it in no way admirable to me.

3 Israel........ despite its many faults is steeped in history and has to be admired for creating a country out of a desert in a generation

You're not serious, surely?  It's an apartheid  state kept afloat by the Yanks for the purpose of providing a bulwark against other superpowers and as a result of the guilt complex we have been forced to carry in the western world after the nazi holocaust.

Historically, yes it is extremely important though.

Places I like -

1 Czech Republic. Loved it, great history etc. WOMEN ARE GORGEOUS. (Beer's cheap but a bit weak).
2 Holland. Lived in Amsterdam. Like the Dutch, easy going and easy to get a long with. Plenty of blonde hotties also.
3 Paris. Class city even for a bowsie from Dublin like me.
4 Kinsale, nicest town in Ireland and has plenty of good restaurants.

Place I most dislike.
ISREAL. Never been to the scumhole but for obvious reasons I hate the place and especially the people. A bunch of fascist, lying, conceited scum.

So you hate the entire Israeli people AND the country even though you have never met Israelis or been there.

Facists  :D you really are a plonker rodney.

You do realise dont you that you sound exactly how you describe the Israelis dont you???? :-[

stew, earlier on this thread you mentioned people being unhappy when their leftist agendas were questioned, yet when someone disagrees with you, you kick up a shitstorm. You're a complete and utter fascist hypocrite. You're much worse than a plonker too.

Well now gallsman, were does one start. I dont kick up a shitstorm, I have strong opinions, I am not nor have I ever been a fascist and sure we have all been hypocrites at one time or another.

You call me names on here, then soften your stance in pm's, I tell you that you havent the courage of your convictions and you go ape shit.

By the way, you are not the genius you tell everyone you are, you are just an arrogant kid with a penchant for self adoration. A more condescending idiot you will not find on this board.
