The clue might be in the name, for Jaysus' sake.
So if I started a new club tomorrow, and called it "Christ Ring GAC", it would automatically have a "great history" because of the name I choose,  without having won a game?
So we are clear...  I, in no way want to diminish the memory of the great man whose name is used in the name of this new club.  And I wish the club well in creating a "great history" in the future, but let us not get carried away and claim to have a great history before accomplishments have been made!

What a slaber you are, these lads are playing for the name of a great footballer and ambassador for his country- and your sitting in your milking parlour in the back ass of nowhere with your dodgy internet connection and "new" laptop trying to give them stick for promoting their club- get a life you creep, you obviously know nothin about GAA, your just a twisted nobody trying to be a big fella on this..............................now jog on

Ah, the irony.

Western exile is correct in everything he's said. The original poster has clarified his remarks after his error was pointed out yet you continue to rant and rave as if there'd been a personal insult against the memory of Cormac McAnallen.

You've been laughed out of the place so disappear with your tail firmly between your legs.

Western exile is a bigger fella than you are and he knows his GAA. Just because he lives in the west doesn't mean he has shit connection either... ::)
Inaugural Football Championship Prediction Winner.

Never beat the deeler

Congrats to the victorious Wolfe Tones who made the trip up from Melbourne and returned with the cup. Also fair play to Pony for winning the Player of The Tournament (even if it was just because he's ginger!)

A good celebration in Durty Nelly's resulted in some missed flights and a lot of sore heads!

PS sorry for going a bit off thread, but im sure CormacMcAnallens wont mind the bump.
Hasta la victoria siempre

Not at all is it getting off the topic!! This is what this discussion shoudl be about - GAA in Australia and openly discuss that! We have been getting carried away with "Great History" comment and forgetting about the football!! Congrats to Wolfe Tones players (and manager who had a huge input I belive in the final) coming up to NSW and walking away with silverware ... afterall it must have hurt to see the Melb 7's silverware come up to NSW!!

Only a matter of weeks until the season kicks off and training is going from strength to strength!!

The annual McAnallens bbq went down a storm on Saturday and bodes well for the season ahead!!

Congrats to all the teams playing in Gosford for keeping GAA alive and well this side of the world. Special congrats to the Tones on their victory and to Coast on continuing last seasons winning run, & Melbourne for the ladies football & camogies. Let's see if anyone can stop them this year in NSW with the league starting in less than 2 weeks. My money is on the Macs lol :) Bring on 2010 season!
Best of luck to all!

What's the big input the Tones manager had in the final? Is it still the (in)famous Mohan?

Would not be the first time it has happened either Gallman. CB is a jackass.

Good luck with the club Macs, I could be seeing you play very soon if everything goes according to plan.

Macs men played the first game of the year. It was a full blooded encounter with Young Irelands.

Macs lead from the start until 5 minutes to go when Young Irelands gained a 1 point advantage. A well struck free kick looked to level things up but unfortunately it was a sunny day and one umpire deemed the ball to veer wide.

Good start to the season though and for a first game it was played at an impressive tempo and intensity.

Fair play to Young Irelands and we will enjoy meeting you again pretty soon.
