Hello to you all.
Just to let you know that Sumo Ireland is always looking for new people who are interested in representing their country at both World and European championship level.

Sumo Ireland is still small and we don't have training in the country yet. At the moment we are just trying to increase the numbers of men (and women) who have tried the sport.

Amateur sumo is divided into weight classes so size doesn't really matter. balance and strength are much more important.

Right now I'm trying to get people for the world championship coming up in Poland in Oct 2010.

If anyone is interested please contact me at president@sumoireland.ie or have a look at our website or Facebook group.

Just in case anyone is worried, I'm not trying to lure players away from football. Sumo is more of an off season compliment to what you are doing now.

Thanks

Anyone here got the gait for it?

Your country needs you!
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

..........

Aerlik

With my extensive knowledge and experience of both Japan and the ancient sport of sumo, I would consider the position of stablemaster..."aerlikbeya" hmmmm has a ring to it - and my man winning the Emperor's Cup in Nagoya in front of my friends...now that would be a thrill.
To find his equal an Irishman is forced to talk to God!
