I guarantee anyone here downgrading Katie's achievements has never see her box. If you did, you would know that she is a top class athlete, technician and mentally strong sportswomen. I have only seen her fight live once, on the undercard of the Bernard Dunne v Cordoba fight. She came in front of a massive crowd, cool as a breeze, totally out boxed her opponent in every way, and was back to being cool as a breeze afterwards. Its not like she was fighting some handbag of an opponent, it was the Pan American Champion.
She is a class act.
Pack of luders

I haven't had the pleasure yet of seeing Katie Taylors Box, but a I am sure it is magnificent. I'm just back from the pub. Good night.

Connacht football, what is the point? I know Roscommon is the best in the Connacht but it isn't a main stream sport. What is all the media hype about? What is the point? I know Roscommon will get an Connacht medal but it just isn't that big of an achievement in this sport. It probably never will be.

I just think all the press hype is totally out of line for what Roscommon has achieved. I really don't want to hear that I am a begrudger etc. I am not, I can't take anything away from Rocommon, Roscommon is the best amateur team in Connacht who are not amateurs. It is just Roscommon is the most hyped Irish sports team at the moment and Roscommon don't deserve it.

Where did the author of the above shite escape from ::)

I do wonder about some people...

I think it's great to see an Irish person up there as the world's best and full credit to her.

Why would we begrudge her?

we're not begrudging her, just pointing out that woman's boxing is a minority sport so our fawning over her is a little excessive.  How many of the general populace could name another woman boxer?
