Have the FAI/IFA or Setanta Cup organisers decided how this competition will be completed.
Or are Linfield just too used to dictating how competitions should be run, who they should or should not play and when they should play play them? :)

Kerr is  right, OldDerry fc is as dead as the dodo.
NewDerry fc certainly don't deserve to be asked to complete the fixtures of Oldderry fc  but is Kerr referring to rules of the competition when he denies their right to play in it or is it his own opinion?

"The Derry City that qualified for the competition has ceased to exist and they have gone into liquidation owing money to ourselves and Dungannon Swifts - although I have been told that we'll get all the money."

What relevance has this incorrect statement got?

OldDerry fc have already settled with Dungannon but still have to pay Linfield. And rumours are that OldDerry have to pay that Linfield debt before NewDerry get their licence to play in the LOI 1st div. In other words it's a done deal because that's a bargain for 5k.
Surely the debt of OldDerry to Linfield has no relevance to the Setanta competition and why mouth off about a debt that is about to be paid off (by a club which no longer exists)?

Sounds like Linfield are mouthing off loud and getting their retaliation in first, even if it appears nobody was out to get them.
(Is that not paranaoia?  ;D)
or they are using the demise of OldDerry as a lame excuse to pull out of a competition that was lagging and having a few wayward swipes at Derry new/old.
